Terms of Service
Traceo Chrome Extension
Last updated: May 13, 2026
These Terms reflect the Traceo Chrome extension for Manifest V3 (current manifest version 1.8, Chrome Web Store listing: Traceo — UI Inspection & Visual Bug Reports) and your use of traceo.dev for Traceo accounts, checkout, and related flows.
Agreement
By installing or using Traceo or by using traceo.dev for Traceo account, billing, or related flows, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the extension or those site features.
The official Chrome extension listing is here: Traceo on the Chrome Web Store. Google’s terms and policies for the Chrome Web Store also apply to how you obtain and update the extension.
License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run Traceo in supported Chromium-based browsers for your own internal purposes (for example design, development, and QA workflows). You may not sublicense, sell, rent, or distribute Traceo except as allowed by applicable law and store rules.
Traceo is updated from time to time. Features, limits, and availability may change; we will use reasonable efforts to avoid disrupting your workflow but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
Traceo Pro, fees, and billing
Certain features may be offered under a paid Traceo Pro subscription or similar named plans.
- Paid checkout and recurring subscription management run through Paddle when you subscribe from traceo.dev. Paddle acts as the merchant of record for those payments under its rules; payment and billing-contact data you enter at checkout are subject to Paddle’s terms and privacy notices, in addition to our Privacy Policy.
- Prices, billing intervals, trials, taxes, invoicing appearance, chargebacks/refunds handling, and customer billing-portal mechanics are governed by what Paddle presents at checkout and Paddle’s policies, except where mandatory law says otherwise.
- If you subscribe, you authorize us (via Paddle) to charge applicable fees until you cancel in accordance with the checkout flows and portal made available at that time.
We may introduce, change, or retire plans or prices; changes may require accepting updated checkout terms or renewing under new pricing according to Paddle’s flows.
Free tiers and usage limits
Traceo may offer free access with quantitative limits (for example per-feature monthly caps when you are signed in). Limits, reset periods, and how they are enforced can change. Continued availability of specific limits is not guaranteed.
Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- Use Traceo to violate any law, third-party rights, or the terms of websites or services you interact with.
- Use inspection, recording, capture, or share features to collect or share others’ personal data without a lawful basis and, where required, consent.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or reverse engineer Traceo beyond what applicable law expressly permits, or circumvent technical limitations we put in place (including usage or entitlement checks).
- Use Traceo to transmit malware, spam, or harmful content, or to probe or attack systems without authorization.
- Use payment methods fraudulently, abuse refunds or chargebacks, or attempt to obtain paid entitlements without proper payment.
You are responsible for how you use Traceo on pages you control or have permission to test. Third-party sites may have their own rules; compliance with those rules is your responsibility.
Accounts, hosted shares, and your content
Some features—sign-in (via Supabase), optional share links for recordings, entitlement checks, usage counters—are optional and described in our Privacy Policy. If you do not use online features, many capabilities remain local-first in your browser.
Content you share
- You retain ownership (to the extent you already had rights) subject to licenses needed to operate the service.
- You grant Traceo a limited, worldwide license to host, transmit, reproduce, adapt format of, display, and share that content only as needed to provide share links and related troubleshooting, enforcement, backups consistent with retention, or security—we do not use your recordings as public marketing materials unless separately agreed.
You represent that you have the necessary rights for any pages, assets, recordings, or personal data captured or shared via Traceo, and that uploads do not violate law or third-party rights. Hosted share retention may be shorter by default on free entitlement than for Traceo Pro; see the Privacy Policy. Hosted videos are not an indefinite archive or backup substitute.
externally_connectable allows only https://traceo.dev and https://www.traceo.dev to send limited typed messages to the extension (for example session handoff or subscription refresh prompts), as described in the Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
Traceo, its branding, and associated content are owned by us or our licensors. Except for the limited license above, no rights are granted to you. Feedback you provide may be used to improve Traceo without obligation to you.
Disclaimers
Traceo is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Traceo will be error-free, that inspection or contrast signals are complete, or that outputs meet any regulatory or accessibility standard unless expressly stated in writing.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we (and our suppliers) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of Traceo or inability to use it. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or Traceo is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Traceo in the twelve months before the claim or (b) twenty U.S. dollars (USD), if you have not paid us. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability will be limited to the maximum permitted by law.
Termination
You may stop using Traceo at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or discontinue Traceo or any feature, or update these Terms, as described below. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including limitations of liability and intellectual property) will survive termination.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (for example via the extension listing or site). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country require otherwise.
