Terms of Service
Traceo Chrome Extension
Last updated: April 13, 2026
Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Traceo (“Traceo”, “we”, “us”), a browser extension for UI inspection and visual bug reporting, distributed through the Chrome Web Store and related materials at traceo.dev. By installing or using Traceo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the extension.
The official Chrome extension listing is here: Traceo on the Chrome Web Store. Google’s terms and policies for the Chrome Web Store also apply to how you obtain and update the extension.
License to use Traceo
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run Traceo in supported Chromium-based browsers for your own internal purposes (for example design, development, and QA workflows). You may not sublicense, sell, rent, or distribute Traceo except as allowed by applicable law and store rules.
Traceo is updated from time to time. Features, limits, and availability may change; we will use reasonable efforts to avoid disrupting your workflow but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- Use Traceo to violate any law, third-party rights, or the terms of websites or services you interact with.
- Use inspection, recording, capture, or share features to collect or share others’ personal data without a lawful basis and, where required, consent.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or reverse engineer Traceo beyond what applicable law expressly permits, or circumvent technical limitations we put in place.
- Use Traceo to transmit malware, spam, or harmful content, or to probe or attack systems without authorization.
You are responsible for how you use Traceo on pages you control or have permission to test. Third-party sites may have their own rules; compliance with those rules is your responsibility.
Accounts, sign-in, and sharing
Some features (such as account sign-in or shareable recording links) are optional and may use online services. How data is handled for those features is described in our Privacy Policy. If you choose not to use those features, many Traceo capabilities remain local-first in your browser.
Intellectual property
Traceo, its branding, and associated content are owned by us or our licensors. Except for the limited license above, no rights are granted to you. Feedback you provide may be used to improve Traceo without obligation to you.
Disclaimers
Traceo is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Traceo will be error-free, that inspection or contrast signals are complete, or that outputs meet any regulatory or accessibility standard unless expressly stated in writing.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we (and our suppliers) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of Traceo or inability to use it. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or Traceo is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Traceo in the twelve months before the claim or (b) twenty U.S. dollars (USD), if you have not paid us. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability will be limited to the maximum permitted by law.
Termination
You may stop using Traceo at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or discontinue Traceo or any feature, or update these Terms, as described below. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including limitations of liability and intellectual property) will survive termination.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (for example via the extension listing or site). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country require otherwise.
